PURPOSE + PLANNING
For new and excited soccer fans who seek an engaging, inclusive platform to learn about the game and connect with others, The Roster is a comprehensive learning and community-building platform that helps users of all levels understand soccer, stay up to date on teams and players, and foster meaningful connections with like-minded fans. Unlike typical sports apps or forums, The Roster offers a welcoming, judgment-free environment tailored to fans who may not have an existing soccer community and offers everything from real-time discussions, detailed player insights, and personalized team recommendations all in one convenient place.
PROCESS + LEARNING GOALS
Through extensive user research, including creating personas conducting primary-user interviews, storyboarding primary workflows and benchmarking existing UI’s, The Roster offers a inclusive learning and socialization experience for new fans of international soccer.
- Scripted and conducted interviews for the primary demographic of young women of color based in large cities, to gain a stronger understanding of the needs of the platform
- Researched and progressively iterated through brand-design by hand-drawing and digitally rendering logos, creating a brand-ethos, and eventually building a digital identity
- Presented a final presentation and demo to a panel of UX Designers at MathWorks and WebEx in a final critique
